School of Nursing Camp

Fun and educational summer camp for kids!

The School of Nursing puts on a camp each year where kids can be active and have fun, play sports with college athletes, and learn through educational sessions. Add this great opportunity to your summer plans!

Camp is full: We are not taking any more camper applications.

When is camp?

Camp is June 11-15, 2018 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Each child should bring a sack lunch.

Where is the camp?

Camp is at Jackson Marrow Park, 4200 S. Park Road, Kokomo. It is on the corner of Center and Park roads.

Is there an age range for campers?

This is a unique day camp program specifically designed for children ages 6-13 years of age.

What types of activities are available?

Campers participate in sports, group activities, and arts and crafts. Making new friends and having new experiences make this camp the highlight of each child’s summer.

How is the camp educational?

There are three educational sessions to select from.

  • FIT Camp: Food and fitness education
  • KIDDS Kamp: Diabetes education
  • Camp Eeze-the-Wheeze: Asthma education

Who supervises the campers?

IU Kokomo School of Nursing students serve as camp counselors and are supervised by IU Kokomo nursing faculty.

How much does the camp cost, and how do I register my camper?

The camp fee is $20 for the week. Financial assistance is available in the form of camperships. Please make request for camperships on the camp registration form.

Please note: Approximately 50 children will be allowed to register for this summer’s camp.

Are there any other forms to fill out?

Yes, we need your camper's medical information. All campers need to have the Medical Information Form filled out. Only campers who will be having the nurses dispense their medication during camp need to fill out the Permission for Dispensing Medication Form. These forms cannot be filled out online.

More than 50 area children prepared to live healthy futures this month at camps sponsored by Indiana University Kokomo. Students and faculty from the School of Nursing welcomed 53 campers, the largest group to attend the annual summer programs since its inception 20 years ago. The majority enrolled in Fit Camp, which focused on health and wellness.
