Admissions Information

The Medical Imaging Technology (MIT) program at Indiana University Kokomo has limited enrollment based on standards set by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology. Admission to the program is very competitive. Applications to the program and/ or completion of the prerequisite courses do not guarantee admission into the professional portion of the program.

To be eligible for admission to Medical Imaging Technology, students must complete a minimum of 90 semester hours including prerequisites.

Application Process: 

  1. Apply and be admitted to Indiana University Kokomo
  2. Students should meet with IUK Allied Health Sciences and Nursing advisors prior to submitting the application.  Contact 765-455-9384 for an appointment.
    • MIT plan of study (pdf) used to assess general education requirements have been met.  
    • Students must have all science and math requirements completed prior to the July start date. 
  3. Submit a Medical Imaging Technology Application** (pdf). 
    • Applications are due by December 1st of the year prior to program admission.
    • Re-applying?  Re-applicants are required to resubmit the MIT application. 
  4. Submit three (3) letters of recommendation.  One letter must be from a program official or other instructor.
  5. Provide evidence of registration or registration eligibility with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).  The content section scores MUST be included.
  6. Prerequisite GPA requirements:
    • Have maintained a minimum GPA of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale for all radiography courses.
    • Have maintained a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for all clinical radiography related courses.
    • Have maintained a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale for all coursework.
    • Have maintained a minimum grade of C (2.0) in all stated general education/prerequisite courses.  Please see Pre-MIT Requirements plan for a complete list.
