Medical Coding Technology

Certificate in Medical Coding Technology

New regulations that govern the payment of health service claims issued by various government entities, and also by third-party agencies, have created a sharp growth in the demand for qualified medical coders. Although most medical coding positions, at present, do not require associate or bachelor's degrees in health information, this growth career field does require specialized training in areas that are related to insurance and health care in general. The Medical Coding Technology Certificate program has been developed to meet the need for quality training for individuals interested in pursuing this field, and combines an understanding of medical terminology and the disease process with ICD-10- CMS and CPT coding principles and guidelines.
