Dear IU Kokomo Student,
As the end of the semester nears, it is time to begin to think about registering your vehicle for spring semester. Prior to receiving your parking decal you must register your vehicle with the IU Kokomo parking office. Attached is the Parking Registration Form which must be returned prior to receiving your parking decal.
Please note: parking decals for students will not be sent via U.S. Mail, but can be picked up at the Parking/Welcome Center Office in Alumni Hall.
Please note: that the parking office has moved to the Welcome Center for your convenience. The parking office will be open from 8 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Friday. We will no longer accept cash or credit cards.
A fee of $4.40 per credit hour up to 12 credit hours will be charged to your BURSAR account for your parking decal, if you had not paid for the decal in advance by selecting "parking" at registration
IU Kokomo is using parking decals this year rather than hang tags. The parking decals must be displayed on the lower left rear/back exterior window on the driver's side of your vehicle. To avoid a ticket for "improper display" the decal must be in the correct position and affixed to the window of the vehicle with the adhesive on the back of the decal. Decals cannot be taped to the inside or outside of the rear window. In the case of a convertible or a truck with a camper shell, the decal maybe placed on lower left corner of the front windshield. No other locations are permitted.
In order to receive a second decal, a student must come to the Parking Office in Alumni Hall of the Kelley Student Center and present the following:
1. a valid IU Kokomo student ID,
2. the decal number for the car currently registered for a parking decal,
3. the state issued vehicle registration for the second vehicle to be registered,
4. a completed registration form
All Faculty/Staff and Students must purchase their own parking decal. The process for getting a second decal does not apply to those students who are married. If two students who are married to each other wish to get two decals, then each must purchase a student decal.
Temporary tags for certain occasions, such as when your car may be in the shop for repairs and you have to drive a car that is not registered, will be available. Such temporary tags are issued at the Parking Office. Hours for the Parking Office are 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday.
If you have any further question please contact the parking office at 455-9557.
