WCMS Training
Every Friday of each month, the web team conducts WCMS training sessions in the library. The format of these training sessions will be about 20 minutes of WCMS training, then the rest of the time will be spent in one-on-one sessions to help each web manager with their site. All sessions take place in the library from 10 AM - 11:30 AM in KA148.

1st Friday of every month:
WCMS Bootcamp Getting Started for Beginners
We will cover the very basics of WCMS. This session is intended for new web managers who need a quick start to publishing pages to the website. Topics include:
- Finding Your Subsite in WCMS (pdf)

2nd Friday of every month:
Content and writing for the web
We will give you some ideas for writing for the web and best practices. Danielle Rush, writer for Media and Marketing, will be present to answer any questions. Topics include:
- Best practices for writing content (powerpoint)
- Style guide for design (web design style guide)
- Style guide for writing and content (writing style guide)
- Link checker browser extensions (chrome extension; firefox extension)
- Adding student spotlights (pdf)
- Faculty/staff bio pages
3rd Friday of every month:
Digital media and video
Staff from Media and Marketing will speak briefly about images and video for your web pages. Below is the some of content we plan to cover.
- Image manipulation, resizing, cropping (pdf)

Organization and structure of your subsite
Learn about the basic structure of your subsite and best practices for organizing your information. (ppt)
We will cover:
- Basic site structure for administrative units (index, fac/staff bios, contact us form)
- Folder creation
- What is the assets folder? (blocks, img, video, docs)
- Rearranging the left nav order
