What is Doceri?
Doceri is the professional iPad interactive whiteboard and screencast recorder with sophisticated tools for hand-drawn graphics and built-in remote desktop control. Originally designed for teachers, Doceri is used by creative individuals in myriad roles and professions from education to entertainment.
Walk Away from the Computer
When connected via WIFI or an ad hoc wireless connection to your Windows PC or Mac, you can control your desktop using Doceri on the iPad and Doceri Desktop for your computer. Launch, open, edit, save – you now have full control of your computer just like sitting behind the keyboard.
View Your Computer Screen on the iPad
Doceri Remote's desktop viewer continually displays an exact copy of your computer's screen – even Flash-based content. Since the computer image is typically much larger than the iPad screen, Doceri lets you use standard pinch gestures to zoom and pan across your computer's screen so that you can work comfortably at any resolution.
Touch Gesture Mouse Control
With the iPad's revolutionary multi-touch interface, you can simulate the mouse functions of your computer. Tapping on the iPad screen will move the mouse to that location and click it. Hold your finger down and mouse magnifier appears allowing you to use another finger to make left and right mouse click actions.
Remotely Control and Annotate PowerPoint and KeyNote
Doceri's QuickLaunch folder makes it easy to open up any document, so you can present and annotate over Powerpoint or Keynote presentation slides – or any file resident on your computer. Anything that you can do on your computer, you can now do remotely through your iPad PLUS you can take your presentation to the next level with live annotations.
See it in action
Rather than tell you everything you can do with Doceri, we'd rather show you! Here is a brief overview of Doceri, presented by the developers of the software.
I'm interested. How do I get started?
We've already done the heavy lifting for you by installing the desktop application on all instructor station PC's. What you'll need to start is an iPad (note: Doceri requires iOS 7 or later, Android not yet available). You'll also need to download the Doceri application (don't worry, it's free!).
You'll want to launch the Doceri Desktop application from the STC machine. Eventually, you should be presented with the connection dashboard. Follow the on-screen instructions to pair your ipad to the computer and setup your password. Once you're paired, you're ready to start!
If you have any questions, we recommend checking out Doceri's FAQ and How-To Videos and of course we are happy to assist where we can!
If you would like in-person training, please contact the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Assessment (CTLA).
