Non-Research Academic Employees

Mechanisms for appointment, reappointment, review and promotion of Lecturers and Clinical appointees will follow the same guidelines and time frames as with tenure-track faculty (as described in the IUK Academic Review Calendar). Lecturers and Clinical appointees will be evaluated on teaching and service, but will not be evaluated on research.

After a probationary period of no longer than seven years (analogous to the tenure process), a candidate who is successfully promoted to Senior Lecturer or Associate Clinical Professor will be awarded a long-term contract, structured as a rolling 3-year contract.
