Summer Science Camp 2012 - Science Rocks!
IU Kokomo hosted its 4th consecutive Summer Science Camp for Underrepresented Middle School Students. This event took place from June 4-8 and June 11- 15. Students worked on exciting projects in biology, health science, chemistry, geology, applied computing (informatics), and physics (rockets). All were taught by IU Kokomo science faculty, allied health faculty and student teaching assistants.
This event was FREE and 20 Middle School students from underrepresented backgrounds (minority students, females, 21st Century Scholars, students from single parent homes, international students, etc) attended the camp.
This Science camp was funded by a grant from the IU Women's Philanthropy Council.
Below are some pictures of the Summer Science Camp from 2011.
