Minimum Core Course Requirements at the Purdue School of Veterinary Medicine (for more details, see www.vet.purdue.edu) 

Students interested in veterinary medicine must complete 2-3 years of course work in order to apply. Required courses must be completed with a  "C" grade or better in each course and applicants must maintain a competitve GPA. 


Inorganic chemistry with labs (10 cr): CHEM-C 105/125 and CHEM-C 106/126

Organic chemistry with lab (10 cr.): CHEM-C 341/342/343/344

Biochemistry (3 cr): CHEM-C 483

Biology with lab (10 cr): BIOL-L 105 and ZOOL-Z 315 or BIOL-L 367

Genetics/Molecular Biology (8 cr): BIOL-L 211/213 and L 364

Microbiology (general or medical) with lab (5 cr):  MICR-M 310/315

Nutrition (animal) (3 cr)

Physics with lab (10 cr): PHYS-P 201/202 or 221/222

Calculus (5 cr): MATH-M 215

Statistics (3 cr): MATH-K 310

English composition (3 cr): ENG-W 131

Communication (3 cr): SPCH-S 121

Humanities (9 cr): foreign language, cognitive sciences, and social sciences

Other recommended courses:  accounting, animal sciences, business, technical writing, economics, leadership, personal finance.
