Degree Requirements
The degree includes 120 hours of total course work including the following:
- Complete the basic Humanities and Social Sciences BA degree curriculum
- Psychology Major (39-42 credit hours, below; all psychology courses require a grade of C- or higher to count towards the major)
Required major courses for B.A. in Psychology (18 credit hours):
- P103 General Psychology (3 credits; taken as part of general education)
- P211 Methods of Experimental Psychology (3 credits) or P259 Introduction to Psychological Inquiry (3 credits)
- P216 Lifespan Development (3 credits)
- K300 Statistical Techniques (3 credits)
- P355 Experimental Methods (3 credits) - not required for students declaring the psychology major prior to Fall 2012
- P459 History and Systems of Psychology (3 credits)
Students must choose courses from each of the following options (24 credit hours):
- Two of the following four courses (6 credits):
- P303 Health Psychology
- P319 Psychology of Personality
- P320 Social Psychology
- P324 Abnormal Psychology
- Two of the following three courses (6 credits):
- P325 Psychology of Learning
- P326 Neuroscience
- P335 Cognitive Psychology
- One of these two, two-semester courses (6 credits):
