The Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education is a program of study that includes three categories of courses:
- General Education makes you a well-rounded individual
- Content Education courses provide a broad knowledge base for classroom teachers
- Professional Education courses connect theory with practice
Teacher candidates progress from observation to participation to instruction. Upon formal admission to the Teacher Education Program (TEP), candidates develop and implement instruction within the local schools. Finally, candidates demonstrate their knowledge, skills, and dispositions as an educator by student teaching successfully and completing an action research project.
