The Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education is a program of study that includes three categories of courses:
- Content Education courses provide a broad knowledge base for classroom teachers
- Professional Education courses connect theory with practice
- Electives and courses in a minor area make you a well-rounded individual
Teacher candidates progress from observation to participation to instruction. Upon formal admission to the Teacher Education Program (TEP), candidates develop and implement instruction within the local schools. Finally, candidates demonstrate their knowledge, skills, and dispositions as educators through successful student teaching and completing an action research project.
