Message from the Dean:

Greetings!  Welcome to the School of Business at IU Kokomo.  We’re glad you’ve taken the time to find out more about us.

The School of Business offers programs in three distinct but related areas – Business, Public Administration and Health Management (PAHM), and Hospitality and Tourism (HTM).  These programs provide students the opportunity to focus their educational efforts in multiple areas all within a single school.   The faculty members throughout the School of Business are second to none.  They are excellent teachers and active researchers.

The programs available in business include a Bachelor of Science in Business (BSB) and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA). Both the BSB and MBA degrees are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International, a designation held by less than 5% of the business programs worldwide.  Students in the BSB program can choose from concentrations in accounting, economics/finance, management and marketing while students in the MBA can identify a concentration in finance or human resources.

Through PAHM students can earn a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration (BSPA) or a Masters in Public Management (MPM).  Both the BSPA and the MPM allow students to focus their concentration on public administration or health management. The public administration curriculum focuses on topics such as public policy, legal issues, government finance and budgets, and urban structure. The health administration curriculum focuses on management of health care organizations such as hospitals and other care settings and public health departments.

The newly created Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Tourism offers students the academic and work experience needed to enter one of the largest and fastest growing industries.  The program includes courses in areas such as convention and meeting management, special event planning, tourism marketing, and abundant internship opportunities.  These elements provide graduates the skills, expertise, and work experiences to move on into careers in hotels and restaurants, convention centers and visitors’ bureaus, and the many aspects of the travel and tourism industry.

I hope you take the opportunity to look around our website and hopefully schedule an appointment to come to campus.  We would love to have a chance to meet you, show you around and tell you why we think the School of Business at IU Kokomo is the place to be.
