The Pathfinder
The Pathfinder is a bi-monthly Newsletter that began in September of 2005 for Indiana University Kokomo students. It was called "First Impressions" when it was first launched by University Division academic advisors. University Division held a contest called, "Name the Newsletter", to help come up with a catchy name. After receiving many entries and careful consideration, "The Pathfinder" was chosen, submitted by Sarah Waite, a University Division student. Sarah was the recipient of a $25 gift card donated to University Division, by the IU Kokomo Bookstore.
The Pathfinder is full of student information that covers important issues relating to college success and campus life. The Pathfinder also covers issues such as mentoring programs, advising structures, policies & regulations, registration and withdrawal dates, tutoring schedules and more that focus on the new student experience. Recently, we have developed a section, especially for parents. It is important that parents know about the programs and services that are in place to help assist their students. These connections make for a stronger university and a stronger community.
