IU Kokomo Athletics
Indiana University Kokomo recognizes and celebrates the skills and talents of its student-athletes. IU Kokomo is a proud member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (KIAC).
Athletics at Indiana University Kokomo will develop student-athletes in a manner that will contribute to their success upon graduation. Correspondingly, the student-athlete will display the character values associated with responsible citizenship and model the ideals desired for all IU Kokomo students. IU Kokomo has approximately 70 student-athletes proudly participating in five intercollegiate varsity sports. IU Kokomo offers men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s basketball (NAIA Division II), and women’s volleyball. Men’s and women’s golf will begin competition in the Fall 2015 semester.
About the NAIA
In the NAIA, a dedication to leadership development is balanced with sports accomplishment. They are a trailblazer in providing equal opportunity for all studentathletes. There is an expectation of ethical behavior, fairness in competition, access to athletic scholarship, sportsmanship and leadership development. At the core of all of this — character. Through Champions of Character, the NAIA seeks to create an environment in which every student-athlete, coach, official and spectator is committed to the true spirit of competition through five core values: integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship and servant leadership.
